On Friday 17 November I lost the plot a little bit... I decided a couple of weeks before hand that wouldn't it be a good idea to windsurf across the English Channel for Children in Need?  Well.. after the fiasco of getting everything in place the forecast smiled benignly and delivered a monstrous swell and force 8-9 south westerly winds to play havoc with our plans.

Not to be deterred that the support boat would not get out into the English Channel I decided to do the same distance (44 miles) from Selsey to Brighton to honour the some £7000 that had been raised.

And it was absolutely the most terrifying and exhausting windsurf I have had to date.  Massive swell, huge gusts of up to 50 miles per hour hitting my sail and wondrous thoughts on whether my kit could take the beating it was receiving!

All being good though I landed in Brighton to the reception of the BBC at about 3pm to a nice hot chocolate and lots of warm applause.

And as for the pics - where there was 4 there ended up being 2... well actually 3 but that's another story!
